it is a stormy day in jerusalem. we started the day with a great cup of coffee. third day in a row we have had coffee. we held off for 3 weeks - drinking only tea. it is amazing how good coffee tastes after not having it regularly (thanks mom for the press and coffee).
thank you for your prayers. the bible study went well last night. a handful of girls came and i think it will be a great group. i mentioned the idea of making dinner together before hand and they were all over it. i haven't seen a group that excited about making food in a long time. so each week one will be in charge of planning the meal, but i imagine they will all come over to help cook.
tonight we are having erin and curtis over for dinner. they will be at regent in the fall too, as they are both from vancouver and curtis is in regent's masters program. small world. they brought settlers of catan with them, so we will enjoy a good game tonight. last week we went over to their house and played -tim won - of course :). they also want to teach us a new game. very fun. tomorrow night we are hosting shabbat dinner for the off-campus students. busy few days having people over, but i am enjoying it.
finally in other life news - i am continuing to learn arabic. with francswa's grandchildren as my latest tutors. three small children yelling english and arabic words at me for a couple of hours made for great laughs yesterday afternoon.
as i reflect over the way we feel surrounded by love i am unexplainably grateful. the Lord has been so good to us. i am thankful for each one of you. love to you all. kristi
