yes 9 days and we will be on a plane headed in the general direction of the states. granted it will be many, many hours later that we will actually arrive in seattle but the thought of beginning the long journey home is extremely exciting for us.
we are looking forward to much about being home - seeing our family and friends (simply being able to call them when we like and knowing we won't wake them up), eating foods with the general confidence we won't get sick and similar thought for drinking water out of the tap, eating chips and salsa!, cheddar cheese (yum), working (yes i am actually excited to begin work again), seeing faith (oh, sweet faith), etc...
but there is definitely a bitter sweet feeling to the good-byes. we have felt so fortunate to be able to have these 7 months of traveling - the Lord has given us so much during this time - rest, lots of time to be together, a fuller picture of His Word, sweet new friendships, a reminder of why we choose to live simple and generous lives, an expansion of our heart for the poor and oppressed, a chance to reflect of what the Lord did in Denver (in us and in the work He called us to) - i think i could go on for a while but for now those are the highlights.
again thank you for walking with us through this blog. just knowing you all read this has helped me feel more connected to home. we would continue to covet your prayers - to finish our time here well (there is still people to be with, dal bhat to eat, books to read), for saftey in our travels, for jobs, a place to live, that we could sell our car, that faith would not go into serious depression when she realizes her long wonderful vacation with my parents is coming to an end, and that we may in this transition continue to remember who we are in Christ - to love well - to remain in the present and to honor Him. so thanks. kristi

Its been fun to read, Kristi. Its been like I've been stuffed in your suitcase (a rather large one, I'd imagine) the whole time, experiencing a small piece of your 7 month adventure. And since i'll be in Seattle in August, I get to wish you a happy birthday in person (if im still invited, blame Tim)!! Who Hoo!! Can't wait to hear more...
I was going through some pictures last night and came upon the ones from last Christmas. It made me more anxious to see you guys (remember the ones where TIm's hair is standing up and he's wearing aviator sunglasses?--Those.) Hope the last few days are sweet and memorable.
