tk talked to gabe last night and here is my update via tim's re-telling of the conversation. :)
ellis is doing great. she continues to be on pressurized oxygen but does not need the medication most preemie babies need to help with breathing. a fighter just like her mom and dad.
she is beginning to take breast-milk through a tube. so far so good with that.
brooke has been able to hold her a little bit each day - but probably not near enough for either of them to be satisfied. brooke will most likely be discharged from the hospital today. while ellis has a few more weeks yet to go before she is ready to go home.
please, please pray for brooke and gabe. i can't imagine what it will be like for them to drive away from the hospital without their precious baby girl. pray for growth and quick development for ellis. pray for peace - peace to cover all three of them. i know the evil one would love to take the joy and hope from them during this difficult time but i believe the Lord is rejoicing with us all for the true miracle that has occured. may the Lord make His love and presence profoundly real.

Kristi, I have been praying for Gabe and Brooke and little Ellis. Just wanted to tell you that Anna's best friend Lauren was also born at about 31 weeks, and her mom had preeclampsia too. She's four years old now and you would never know she was born early. And she was only 2 lbs. 12 oz.! Both of my girls were born at St. Joe's too, and I have a friend who works in the NICU. I'll have to ask her if she's met your little niece!
