Hebron

yesterday kristi and i and our friend ben sheldon headed down to check out the city of hebron. its in the southren hill country, an important town in the hebrew scriptures. it also is the site of a monument herod the great built to abraham which some think was built by the same architect who built the temple mount, hence it helps us reconstruct what the temple mount looked like in jesus' day. finally, it is a important town in modern politics because in the dead in the middle of some 150,000 palestinians lives a settlement of about 800 jews. it was interesting...

great day trip, today we are getting ready to leave for a little vacation over the next week. tomorrow we leave for tel aviv for a day, and from there we are headed down to the sinai peninsula for 5 days or so. should be great!
