this will have to be a quick post because today sammy and i are going to Purpose (my work) to introduce her to everyone. we are both very excited. sammy is looking forward to putting voices with faces, as I spent most of the days of my pregnancy with these wonderful women (and one man) and so the girl knows their voices.
sammy has some baby acne going on. it doesn't bother her and it doesn't bother me. but i was wondering if you all knew if there was something i could be doing to help her out. she is being bathed regularly (about every other day) and i am not using soap on her face (per the recovery nurse's instruction). i know this is something that will go away on its own, but if i can help a girl out i would like to.
well we are off to get ready for the day. tim has class all this week, and i am happy to report our morning together just the two of us is going quite well. (although bek we miss you and the kids like crazy!) it is a beautiful day in vancouver, and sammy and i hope to take faith for a walk when we return.
also - grandma v bought sammy her cute pink bow at claires.

Hey Mama! We used California Baby the Calendula Cream (it's in a small yellow jar) for his bumps and rashes and it cleared it right up! You can buy it at Baby's are us or Target. So excited for Sammy to meet everyone she heard while in your tummy! Have a great day!
I had a serious case of baby acne when I was tiny too. My dad took me to the school where he taught, and he overheard one of the middle school students say in disgust, "I wonder what the mom looks like." :) Have fun! Love and miss you...
I MISS you too!!!! We are in Indy and the flights were great, PRAISE JESUS! I cried the whole way to the airport. We love you guys so much!
Kristi, we had to use Cetaphil (the most mild cleanser you can find) on Baby James at about that age as Sammy. Our peditrician said to bathe everyday with it (with water or without water). We did eventually have to use a topical cream to help it along since his was so inflammed and bothering him. The Cetaphil seem to calm it down though and he was over this 'acne' at about 4 mos. of age. It obviously varies with each baby on how long it lasts since it is usually because of the mother's hormones in the breastmilk. Cetaphil can be found at the drugstore or grocery store in the cleanser aisle. It is expensive but we used very little in that amount of time. Still skip the soap and lotions for a while longer too. Coop never had the baby acne but he had and continues to have very sensitive skin. I bathe him in Aveeno fragrance free baby wash (eXPENSIVE!) and have to use dye/fragrance free laundry detergent too. Good luck! Also be aware of what you are washing your clothes and body in too as I'm sure Miss Sammy is spending plenty of time snuggled up to her Mama! :)
kinley has some bad acne for a couple months. we always washed her clothes in a "free" soap and when people would hold her on their shoulder i would make sure they put one of our blankets over their clothes...all perfumes etc made it worse. also used hydrocortisone cream that cleared it right up! it will be gone before you know it!

No suggestions on the baby acne. Hannah had some but her skin was dark enough no one could tell.
